The Blarney Stone is set in a stone wall in Blarney Castle Cork,in the village of Blarney. Kissing the stone is some feat, as you have to lie back and bend down holding onto iron bars, so you dont slip through the hole. The story goes that the stone is 1/2 of the stone of Scone, The supposed Stone of Destiny, used to crown the Kings of Scotland.
It was thought that an old woman, there's always an oul yin in the Irish stories, cast a spell on the stone to reward a king who'd saved her from drowning, good thing too or she'd have been away with the fairies.

By casting the spell, she gave the king the talent for eloquence and flattery, called blarney by the english. So that's why the Irish are such smooth talkers and dangerous with their flattery.

Elloquence is a speech synthesyzer program, and JAWS is a screen-reading program. JAWS comes with Elloquence as its main program to make JAWS speak.

Is it even still possible to kiss it?
i'd have thought it'd be some kind of protected thing by now, considering how protected the stone in scotland is now.

Sure it's possible Ireland thrives on tourists kissing the blarney stone, and in case your wondering have I had the backache?
Kiss it? I made love to the stone with my lips!

A irish bar owner around here told us once that they go and pee on it when they get out of the bar at night and the next day the americans are over there kissing it.
